WellSpan's labor and delivery teams warmly welcomed the first babies born in our hospitals on New Year’s Day.
At WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, Zoey Skye Lynn was born at 12:30 a.m. She weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19.25 inches long at birth. She is the daughter of Katelyn Lutz from the Cornwall area.

At WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, some of the first babies born on New Year's Day include James Lee Fisher, born at 1:40 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds, and was 19 inches long at birth. He is the son of Elizabeth Fisher of Newburg. Also born on New Year's Day morning was Derwyn Cedric Eby. He was born at 5:32 a.m. and weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 18.5 inches long at birth. He is the son of Kimberly Eby of Clear Spring, Md.

Born earlier in the morning at 4:15 a.m. was WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital’s first baby of 2026: Tateum Conners. She was born 4 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 inches long at birth. She is the daughter of Emma Allwein of Lebanon and dad is Jackson Conners.

WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital had it’s first baby of 2026 at 3:46 p.m. on January 2nd. Baby Evelyn Rayne Ellis was born 8 pounds, 13.5 ounces and was born 20 inches long. Her parents are Claudia and James Ellis and she has a big sister named Eowyn.

Finally, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, twins were the first born at that hospital as the first born of the new year! At 8:37 p.m. on January 2, 2026, October Mae Reamer was born, weighing 4 pounds, 11.6 ounces and measuring 18” was born, with her brother Lincoln Scott Reamer arriving two minutes later at 8:39 p.m. His birth weight was 6 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 20” long. Mom, Destiny Mitch, and Dad, Matthew Reamer, are from Millmont. Both mom and babies are resting and doing well.

Note that families are not required to share news of their birth publicly. Some families do choose to maintain privacy around release of this information and that may be why not all hospitals are listed as having first babies of the new year.
WellSpan has six labor and delivery units across nine hospitals in our region, including WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital, WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital (Lewisburg), WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital, WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital (in Lebanon) and WellSpan York Hospital.
