We’re proud to further our commitment to ensuring the future of healthcare by providing quality student experiences for nurses pursuing advancement in their careers.
We offer clinical rotations for students enrolled in accredited nurse practitioner (NP) and physician assistant (PA) programs.
We want to inform you about an important update regarding the availability of spots in our Nurse Practitioner programs, particularly for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Health Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students.
To support our internal workforce, we will prioritize existing WellSpan Health employees for any available spots in these programs. This means that PMHNP and FNP students who are also WellSpan employees will be given priority consideration when possible.
Currently, we are limiting spots for the PMHNP program due to fluctuating internal provider hiring demands. We understand that this may impact some of you, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate these changes.

Rotation Request Timelines and Cancellations
Rotation requests must be submitted at least 8 weeks in advance of the rotation start date, but no earlier than 6 months of the rotation start date. For example, if you are applying for a May 1st start date the earliest you can apply is November 1st. If we do not have your application by our 8 week deadline we will not be able to accept your application. Additionally, we will not be able to accept any applications submitted earlier than 6 months prior to the rotation start date.
Please know there is no guarantee that we can meet your program’s deadlines; we work with a variety of programs, and all have different timelines.
Submission of an application does not guarantee placement.
An APP student coordinator will contact you with any additional information, questions, or updates regarding your application status.
For rotation cancellations, please contact your APP student coordinator as soon as possible prior to the start of your rotation.
